The Nick Singh Foundation (“NSF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, submit a story or project idea to us, make a donation, sign up to receive communications from us, partner with us, or otherwise interact with us. This Privacy Policy applies to all NSF websites (including www.thenicksinghfoundation.org and any of its subdomains, the “Website”) and any related services (collectively, the “Services”). By interacting with us in this manner, you consent to the terms of this policy.

When you share a story with us, you give NSF permission to use and share the information in that story in accordance with this Privacy Policy or any Release form or signed authorization you have provided us.


If you submit a story to us on behalf of another person, you are responsible for obtaining that individual’s consent or any other required permissions to do so.


Children’s Online Privacy Protection

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without obtaining the consent of a parent or guardian of the child. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately at thenicksinghfoundation@gmail.com.

  • To create aggregated and statistical data which we may use to improve services.

  • Social and other Media: In order to promote a story or project, we may share your information in a social media post or through relevant media outlets. If we share your story on social media, it may be reposted, shared, or commented on by others. NSF may not be able to limit this usage by third parties and we disclaim any liability for what third parties may do with information we have shared including any consequences, reactions, or outcomes that may occur.
  • Sharing Project Materials: In order to create, promote, or administer a story or project, we may create and share project materials such as slide decks, documentation, or other artifacts that include personal information provided to us. 
  • Project Collaborators: Third parties we are working with in order to create an experience or tell your story. For example, we may share your information to another nonprofit organization we have partnered with.  This may also include organizations making grants to us or to you or your project.
  • Service Providers: Payment processors, email distribution and marketing platforms, and website analytics providers. 
  • Our Advisors: To our legal and financial advisors, if necessary for them to be able to provide us with advice.
  • Legal Authorities: If required by law or to protect our rights.
  • Protecting Rights and Safety: We may share your personal information if we believe in good faith that it will help us protect your rights or our rights.
  • Change in Corporate Control: If NSF undergoes a change in control (for example, a merger with another nonprofit organization), your personal information may be shared with the parties involved.

  • Opt out of marketing/newsletter emails we may send you by clicking “unsubscribe” in any message where this is applicable. If you have received a message from us you would like to be unsubscribed from and do not see an “unsubscribe” option, you may reply directly to the message asking to be removed.
  • Update or delete an of your personal information we may have collected by contacting us. Please contact us at thenicksinghfoundation@gmail.com if you need to update any of your personal information. We may need additional information from you in order to verify your identity to make these changes. We may be required to retain certain information, as noted below.
  • Disable cookies through your browser settings.

If your information has been shared with third parties, as noted above, their own retention policies would apply.

Our donation and collection functions may be handled by a third-party service provider. If so, we recommend that you review any third-party privacy policy before providing them with your personal information.
